Our Mission:
Engineering biology needs more than invention — it needs infrastructure.
At GitLife, we’re building the infrastructure for biological rights and IP management — helping biotech teams structure, protect, and commercialise their innovations from day one.
Just as digital rights management reshaped how software is owned and distributed, we believe synthetic biology needs tools that give innovators the same level of clarity, control, and commercial power. Our platform is designed to make biology traceable, shareable, and secure — so that every contribution becomes a protected, licensable asset.
Biological innovation is accelerating — but the systems to manage it haven’t kept pace. Teams still rely on spreadsheets, siloed records, and legal PDFs to track IP, often losing time, clarity, and value along the way. GitLife was created to change that. We believe that by embedding version control, licensing structure, and biosecurity into everyday biotech workflows, we can unlock a new era of secure, scalable collaboration in synthetic biology.

our team
GitLife brings together scientists, engineers, and operators with deep experience across synthetic biology, data infrastructure, and commercial strategy. We’re a small, ambitious team with deep roots in both lab science and real-world commercialisation — building the tools we wish we’d had.

working at GitLife
We’re building something ambitious — and we’re doing it with care.
We work remotely across disciplines and time zones, while staying closely connected to the lab. Our team is flexible and outcome-focused — we trust each other to manage time and work in ways that support deep focus, clear communication, and meaningful collaboration. Whether in person at our Newcastle base or online from anywhere, we make space for different working styles.
We move fast but thoughtfully. We’re transparent about what’s working and what’s not. And we’re always learning — together.
If that sounds like your kind of team, we’d love to hear from you.
